Changing the Story of HIV into a story of HOPE at Cherish Uganda
At Cherish Health Center, we educate people on HIV, test for HIV, put on medical outreaches, counsel those affected by HIV, offer HIV treatment, and walk alongside those hurting.
The average appointment at Cherish Health Center costs $9.
Offering nutritional support to a HIV+ family in need costs $17.
During this season of giving, will you help us change the story of HIV into a story of hope for patients at Cherish Uganda?
World AIDS Day is December 1st, but…
We're walking through the journey of what it's like to live HIV positive for the whole month of December. No questions are off the table! We want to educate as many people as possible so that we can eliminate the stigma and discrimination HIV+ individuals face every day!
HIV awareness
A lack of education and awareness about HIV can lead to spreading of the virus and/or discrimination towards those who are HIV positive. Don’t feel silly if you have questions- most people don’t know the truths about how HIV is spread or what the difference between HIV & AIDS. Click the link below to learn more about HIV.
Treatment
Patients can receive full treatment at Cherish Health Center. HIV treatment is called Antiretroviral Treatment (ART). Each patient has their own “HIV cocktail” of assorted medication that they take daily. ART helps the body control the HIV virus, allowing patients to live a long, healthy life. The generosity of people just like YOU helps Cherish Uganda and Cherish Health Center serve those in need.
